Rasansky Law Firm Announces Injury Lawsuit
Against Dallas Day Care Center

Parents discovered daughter's broken clavicle after day care stay

DALLAS - Attorneys from Dallas' Rasansky Law Firm are announcing a lawsuit filed today against a popular Dallas day care center and its parent corporation after an 18-month-old child suffered a broken clavicle and other injuries at the center last November.

Attorneys Jeff Rasansky and Clint Gilbert of the Rasansky Law Firm represent Jeremy Roden and his wife Tenille Docampo in the claim filed against Children's World Stars & Tykes day care center; the center's director, Barbara Giddings; the center's parent corporation, Portland, Ore.-based Knowledge Learning Corp. (KLC); and KLC's owner, Santa Monica, Calif.-based Mounte LLC.

According to the complaint filed today in Dallas State District Court, the parents picked up their 18-month-old daughter Delaney from Stars & Tykes on Nov. 27, 2006. After reaching their car, they discovered severe bruises on their daughter. Both Mr. Roden and Ms. Docampo immediately went back into the day care center for answers, but staff members claimed they had no idea how Delaney was hurt.

They took their daughter to a local hospital that day and alerted authorities, including Child Protective Services. At the hospital, Delaney was diagnosed with a broken clavicle, various abrasions and other injuries. After clearing the parents of any wrongdoing, the Dallas Police Department started an investigation that has yet to result in any arrests.

"This is a parent's worst nightmare," says Mr. Rasansky, lead counsel for the parents. "Jeremy and Tenille trusted this company and its employees with the care of their child only to find out that their own flesh and blood was harmed instead. There's no way these hard working people and their beautiful child deserved this."

Stars & Tykes is located in the Dallas Federal Building at 207 South Houston Street in downtown Dallas. Many city employees and other workers in the downtown area rely on Stars & Tykes to care for their children. Mr. Rasansky says his clients hope today's lawsuit will help other parents make an informed decision about their children's day care.

"Delaney's mom and dad are rightfully concerned that other parents may not know what is happening at Stars & Tykes, and they're hopeful that this lawsuit will prevent another family from having to face what they've gone through over the past few months," Mr. Rasansky says.
