The causes of SJS in children can vary, but medication can play a big part. Ibuprofen based medications such as Advil and children's Motrin are the most common medications given to children that can cause Stevens Johnson Syndrome. Children's Motrin has come under fire following the effects it had on a young girl. The seven-year old girl was given children's Motrin for feverishness, and began to develop symptoms the next day. She was rendered blind within two days.
