The Recent Growing Trend

Exploding Glass Shower DoorThe problem of an exploding shower stall can be quite dangerous as in the case of a 12-year-old Dallas boy who was injured in such an event. The boy had just stepped into the shower, and the water was running when his mother heard an explosion and screaming from downstairs. Overtime pay is a very basic concept, and the rules of its application are not generally ambiguous. Unfortunately, many American workers are getting a raw deal thanks to unscrupulous employer practices.

According to US law, non-exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for any time workerd which exceeds the 40-hour workweek. The rate of overtime pay is calculated by taking the employee’s base pay and multiplying it by 1.5. Unfortunately, many companies across the country do not strictly adheer to these rules.

UPDATE (05/07/2014) — Denton City Council has unanimously voted 7-0 to ban texting while driving.

Texting while driving might seem like a harmless practice due to the proliferation of digital devices, but the resulting accidents from individuals doing this tell a different story. When you’re on the road, your total attention is needed in order to avert a car accident. Even though it might be tempting to read a message from a loved one, it’s ALWAYS a better idea to wait until you’ve parked your car somewhere safe to do so.

Brake override systems can prevent car accidents, and should be a standard safety feature in ALL automobiles.

A brake override system is a computerized component which automatically overrides the throttle mechanism of a vehicle, helping you to brake even when the accelerator pedal is depressed. This means that a vehicle with unintended acceleration issues may be able to come to a stop during such a situation, averting a potentially deadly car accident.

Slip and Fall Accidents at Target

Submitted by jrlaw on Jan 8th, 2014

Retailers face injury claims based on premises liability law quite frequently, and Target is certainly no exception. It can sometimes be difficult to understand who is truly (and legally) at fault when these things occur, and that is because premises liability law is a bit complex. Thousands of people are injured on an annual basis as a result of falling on a slippery or dangerous floor, stairs, or other surface. This can sometimes even include ground that is uneven enough to have the potential for causing a trip and fall accident.
