What Makes Product Liability Law Firms Successful

Submitted by jrlaw on Jul 5th, 2011

Filing a product liability claim oftentimes means going up against a corporation that has vast resources to bring to its defense. Any lawyer can file a product liability lawsuit. What you need to make sure of is that the lawyer you select to file your product liability claim is one who has actually worked on these cases before and who stands a chance of winning it.

Suing

Whenever you file a lawsuit, there's no guarantee that you will win. What a lawyer can do, however, is plead your case to the jury in a way that elicits their sympathy and that explains to them how you are injured because of the manufacturer putting a defective product on the market. To get an idea of how these attorneys make these cases work for their clients, you have to understand a bit about what a defective product is.

Homecare and Senior Neglect

Submitted by jrlaw on Jun 23rd, 2011

Elderly neglect

caused by homecare workers can be one of the most dangerous of all situations. When this happens in a nursing home, the victim at least has the advantage of there being a lot of other employees around who, hopefully, will notice that something is wrong. When the elder is isolated in their own home, it may be very hard for them to communicate to someone that something is wrong. There are some things you can do to make it easier for them.

Three Things that Make You Wreck

Submitted by jrlaw on Jun 22nd, 2011

Car wrecks happen all the time. If you've ever wondered why wrecks happen, here are three common causes of car crashes.

1. Poor Maintenance

Your vehicle is a complex machine. It has a lot of different systems, and some of those systems are made up of hundreds of different individual parts. They have to be maintained. Everything from the windshield washer fluid to the brake pads have to be in the proper condition to allow for safe driving. This doesn't always cost a lot of money. For example, you can learn to change your own windshield wipers, check your own tires and other small tasks, even if you aren't mechanically inclined. Most mechanics, in fact, will probably give you some pointers.

2. Inattentive Driving

You have to pay attention to the road when you're driving. If you're talking to someone, don't look at them while talking.Keep your eyes on the road. It's hard to imagine, sometimes, how far you travel in the second or two you take your eyes off the road to look at your radio, a passenger, your phone or anything else. At the very least, you should make sure that you're watching out for the other drivers out there who aren't paying attention as there are plenty of them.

Three Things that Indicate that You Should Slow Down

Submitted by jrlaw on Jun 16th, 2011

In many cases, drivers are injured when they overestimate how much control they have over their vehicles. There are specific situations where drivers tend to do this more than others and, if you want to be a safe driver, you should learn about these situations and what they mean about how you should adjust your speed to compensate for them.

Rain and Snow

Dallas isn't known for its snow, but it does fall occasionally. Rain can be just as hazardous for drivers. If you find yourself driving in conditions where heavy rain or snow is falling, be sure to slow down a little bit. As a general rule, you should have your headlights on whenever you turn your windshield wipers on. This ensures that the other drivers on the road can see you coming. While your visibility might be quite good, you can never be sure how someone else's windshield wipers are functioning or how well they compensate for driving in these types of conditions.

Night

One of the biggest mistakes that drivers make is outdriving their headlights. At night, the minimum stopping distance you need translates directly to the amount of road that your headlights illuminated front of you. Remember that the reach of your headlights may be much shorter than the stopping distance of your car at highway and freeway speeds. Even in a residential area, your headlights may not be illuminating that much road and you should slow down to make sure that you can stop in time to avoid hitting anything that suddenly appears at the limit of your vision.

Helping an Attorney Help You: 3 Tips

Submitted by jrlaw on Jun 16th, 2011

A Dallas car wreck attorney will do their best to help you get compensated if you've been injured due to a negligent driver. You have to help them, however. There are three things you can do—or not do—to help them do their job and to help you get compensated for the Dallas car accident you were in.

When to Consider a Malpractice Claim

Submitted by jrlaw on Jun 15th, 2011

Going ahead with a medical malpractice claim is a big decision. It's oftentimes very intimidating, and going to court is never something that people look forward to. If you're wondering if you're in a good position to file a lawsuit, consider the following.

1. Were you Treated Negligently?

Medical malpractice claims hinge on your being treated negligently by the doctor in some regard. This may or may not involve outright incompetence. In some cases, a very good, very skilled doctor may have attended you, but they may have been negligent in the care they gave. Your lawyer will help you determine where and when negligence came into play and how it fits into your experience.

2. Did You Suffer?

Pain and suffering are almost always a part of a medical malpractice claim. This is hard to quantify in dollars, but attorneys can help you come up with an appropriate figure. They'll do this as part of putting your entire claim together. This is subjective, of course, but other cases provide guidance as to how much to ask for in your claim. If you suffered because of a doctor's negligent treatment, malpractice claims are something to consider.

3 Things that Make You Wreck

If you're wondering how people get into wrecks, there are  three things that you should be aware of. They aren't all things that you do  while you're behind the wheel, but they are things that do cause all kinds of  bad situations.

1. Poor Maintenance

Your vehicle is a complex machine. It has a lot of different  systems and some of those systems are made up of hundreds of different  individual parts. They have to be maintained. Everything from the windshield  washer fluid to the brake pads has to be in the proper condition to allow for  safe driving.

If you're talking to someone, don't look at them when you're talking to them.  Just look at the road. It's hard to imagine, sometimes, how far you travel in  the second or two you take your eyes off the road to look at your radio, a  passenger, your phone or anything else. At the very least, you should make sure  that you're watching out for the other drivers out there who aren't paying  attention; there are plenty of them.

3 Summer Driving Hazards

Submitted by lucinda on Jun 7th, 2011

Summer is famous for being the best time to be out on the roads. Unfortunately, it is also one of the times when your chances of getting into an accident are much higher. All those other drivers on the road constitute potential hazards, and you need to make sure you give some of them a wide berth. Here are a few things to watch out for:

Do You Have a Car Wreck Lawsuit?

Submitted by jrlaw on May 16th, 2011

It's not true that you have the opportunity to sue the other driver every time you get into a car wreck. While some people seem to think that any incident involving their vehicle and a crash is one in which they were wronged, this is most certainly not the case. In order to determine whether or not you actually have a valid lawsuit on your hands, you need to talk to a vehicle accident lawyer and get their opinion on the matter.

Motorcyclists and Their Rights

Submitted by jrlaw on May 16th, 2011

Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable drivers on the road. If you want an idea of how dangerous riding a motorcycle is, imagine driving around on the hood of your car and you have some idea. There's no protection if you hit another vehicle or a fixed object and, if you're involved in any type of Dallas car accident that involves a larger vehicle, you're pretty much looking at serious injuries or death.

You can do a few things to help motorcyclists keep safe.
