Update: Ft. Worth Cop Was Drunk in Car Crash

Last week, we blogged about a car accident in Fort Worth involving an off-duty Fort Worth police officer. A blood test was administered to determine if the officer in question was intoxicated. Test results showed Officer Jesus Cisneros had a blood alcohol content of .17 — more than twice the legal limit — when his sports utility vehicle collided with a car driven by Sonia Baker. The legal blood alcohol content limit for operating a motor vehicle is .08.

Investigators will focus on intoxication manslaughter, police said, but some legal experts question whether that charge applies in this case. Police have suggested Baker may have been at fault in the accident because she pulled out from a stop sign into his path on Columbus Trail.

Cisnerso was placed on restricted duty until the investigation ends.

We will keep you up-to-date of any further developments involving this accident.
