Daycare Worker Caught Abusing Child on Video

Daycare Worker Caught Abusing Child on Video

Fox2Now reports that a day care worker in Missouri was captured on video by a man in a nearby park. According to the report, the incident started when the man saw a day care worker strike a child on the back of the head after the child started running toward the road.

The cameraman started recording and captured the daycare worker picking the child up and kneeing the child back onto the ground. The child in question was two years old. The cameraman did not capture the initial blow to the back of the head allegedly delivered to the child by the daycare worker, but he did capture the child being picked up and kneed and lying on the ground for at least five minutes.

The cameraman sent the video to the police department in Dellwood, Missouri and the police sent it to the daycare operator. The daycare operator is quoted in the article as being appreciative of the cameraman for sending the video and said that they immediately fired the worker. The daycare owner also acknowledged that, while they do conduct background checks, they cannot see what’s going on in all parts of the daycare at all times.

Getting Help

The child involved in this particular situation was fortunate. He was assisted by a random person with a video camera who took the time to document the abuse and to send it to the proper authorities right away. Quite often, finding daycare abuse help is not quite so easy. The abuse that this child suffered has all the hallmarks of someone who’s abused because of the explosive anger of somebody who is in charge of supervising them. Not all daycare abuse is of this nature.

While there are far too many instances where daycare workers lose their tempers and abuse children, there are also abusers who are very methodical, very careful and who manage to visit abuse upon children for a protracted amount of time because nobody knows about it. It’s important for parents, daycare workers and anybody close enough to see daycare abuse going on to report it immediately. As this story demonstrates, sometimes the daycare operators have no idea that someone working for them is so abusive.

If you believe that negligence was the reason that your child was abused at a day care center, talk to an attorney about filing a lawsuit for compensation.
