Avoiding Negligent Drivers

Avoiding Negligent Drivers

Sometimes, you’ll notice that a driver is being negligent before you end up getting in a wreck. If you happen to have a chance to see it coming, it’s best to steer clear of a bad situation that’s about to happen. Here are some of the classic examples of negligent drivers that you can easily avoid.

Wolf Packs

This happens when several cars begin tailgating one another on a stretch of road. They’ll bunch up, usually taking up both lanes and they’ll all keep around the same speed and within a close distance of each other. These are pile-ups waiting to happen. You can either let them get by you or lag well behind to avoid becoming part of the wreck.

Swerving Drivers

They may not be drunk, but they’ll be cutting across lanes very quickly and taking sharp turns. These drivers are either very bad behind the wheel or they’re in a rush. You’ll want to keep your distance and, if they get alongside you, expect them to cut in front of you without any warning.

Lost Drivers

They may be fiddling with their GPS or trying very hard to read the addresses on the side of the road, but they’re not looking in front or alongside them. Expect quick turn offs and sudden stops from these drivers. Hang well back, if possible.

Drifting Through Stop Signs or Signals

These drivers can make your heart jump up in your throat. They inch out of intersections while cars are going by. Their front end oftentimes coming very close to the traffic going down the road. Watch them closely; they’re not watching for you.

Bad Motorcyclists

Weaving in and out of lanes, driving way over the speed limit and cutting in front of traffic, these drivers are more of a hazard to themselves than they are to you. Still, it pays to give them plenty of room so you don’t end up in a bad wreck with them.

If someone injures you due to their own negligence behind the wheel, talk to a Dallas car accident lawyer. Provided that you have a good case, they may be able to help you get compensated for the damage you suffer in the car wreck. Whether you’re rear ended by a tailgater or cut off by someone who is overly aggressive and get in a wreck because of it, it’s worth it to talk to an attorney about the matter.
