Amusement Parks Make Big Bucks But Can Be Dangerous

According to a report in Daily Finance, amusement parks have been doing quite well over the year. In fact, the report says that Six Flags is expected to have an 8 percent increase in revenue this year. The increasing profitability of amusement parks does bring up some questions, however. Some of the rides at amusement parks can be very dangerous if they're not properly maintained and if safety regulations are not followed closely.

Staying Safe

When you're dealing with small children, going on an amusement park ride can be a great deal of fun and a very memorable experience. It's important to not try to cheat on things like height requirements, however. If your child is even an inch too short to be on the ride safely, don't let them get on it. It's up to the amusement park operators to enforce these regulations and, if they are not, that is a huge warning sign. Usually, height requirements are in place to make certain that the restraining systems on the amusement park rides function correctly. A child who does not fit in them correctly could end up falling out of the car on an amusement park ride and being seriously injured or killed.

Take a Look

Follow your instincts on amusement park rides. If you see one in operation and it doesn't look quite safe to you, don't get on it. Even if you are assured that it is completely safe and it has been inspected, follow your instincts rather than listening to the salespeople at the amusement park. This is particularly true when you're dealing with traveling amusement parks that may not have their equipment inspected as much as needs to be done or that may have equipment that gets damaged while on the road.

If You're Hurt

There are attorneys who can help you with amusement park accident and injuries by taking a look at the circumstances and seeing if there was some sort of negligence involved. These accidents can be very serious and even deadly. If you have someone in your family harmed, you have been harmed or if you have had someone in your family killed, it's a good idea to speak to an attorney about going after the amusement park for compensation. There is no reason that you should be stuck with the medical bills and other hardships that come with these injuries because someone was negligent.
