If you are one of the approximately 4,300 owners of a Precious Moments Angel Tree Topper you need to be aware that the item has recently been recalled due to its potential risk of overheating and starting fire, according to an article on JusticeNewsFlash.com.
The product recall press release issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission states that the reason for the overheating issue is wiring that is undersized and can melt the topper’s switch assembly. Precious Moments Inc. has been informed of two overheating cases thus far, but no injuries have been reported from the incidents. If you do have one of these items you are instructed to return it to the place of purchase and you will be issued a full refund of the purchase price.
Dangerous ornaments pose a severe threat, as outlined in a U.S. Fire Administration report which warns, "a Christmas tree provides sufficient fuel to ignite a serious fire."
